Back in 2024, the Miami Dolphins signed former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks to a three-year, $26.3 million contract after he had recorded 513 tackles (23 for a loss), 16 passes defensed, 11 quarterback hits, 6.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and an interception in 63 games over four seasons.
Since then, Brooks has been phenomenal with the Dolphins, recording 326 tackles (24 for a loss), 10 quarterback hits, nine passes defensed, 6.5 sacks, three fumbles recovered and one forced fumble.
In 2025, Brooks took a step forward, leading the league in tackles for the second time in his career and earning All-Pro honors for the first time.
Heading into 2026, NFL executives, coaches and scouts ranked Brooks as the seventh-best linebacker in the NFL, per ESPN.
"Brooks has a skill set similar to Demario Davis when he was young -- really strong, fast, physical, can play in space, very good tackler," one NFL coordinator told ESPN.
Fred Warner, Roquan Smith, Caron Schwsinger, Zack Baun, Jack Campbell and Azeez Al-Shaair all ranked above Brooks, while Nick Bolton, Edgerrin Cooper and Devin Lloyd rounded out the top 10 at the position.
Brooks is entering the final year of his current contract, and while the Dolphins believe he's a player that they want to build around under new head coach Jeff Hafley and new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, the two sides haven't come to an agreement yet.
