The Washington Commanders may have traded multiple draft picks to the Houston Texans for five-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, but that hasn't stopped them from doing their homework on multiple tackle prospects in the upcoming NFL draft.
Washington has hosted Josh Conerly Jr. (Oregon) and Wyatt Milum (West Virginia) on top 30 visits. Conerly is expected to go in the first round, no later than the early second round, while many believe Milum will land somewhere in the second round.
The Commanders have also met with multiple other offensive tackles, whether at the NFL combine, the Senior Bowl, or numerous pro days. Last week, Washington was at Albany's pro day and met with one of the draft's more unheralded offensive linemen. The Commanders and New York Giants were in town to watch Albany's pro day, which featured offensive tackle Ozzie Hutchinson.
The Poughkeepsie, New York, native measured in at just under 6-foot-5 and weighed 307 pounds. Not much is known about Hutchinson, but he has excellent size and length. He would not require a premium pick and is a player Washington could develop as a potential swing tackle.
