The Washington Commanders selected Oregon offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. with the No. 29 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
With several edge rushers remaining on the board, Washington chose to reinforce the offensive line with the selection of the 21-year-old Conerly. Earlier this offseason, the Commanders sent multiple draft picks to the Houston Texans for five-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil. With Tunsil locking down the left side, Conerly's future, at least initially, will be at right tackle.
The 6-foot-5, 311-pound Conerly played in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2022. He took over as the Ducks' starting left tackle in 2023, starting all 14 games and earning Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 honors. In 2024, the Seattle native started every game at left tackle again and was named a third-team All-American and a first-team All-Big Ten selection.
