The Miami Dolphins will look like a much different team in 2026 than they did in 2025, when they finished with a 7-10 record and in third place in the AFC East with Mike McDaniel as their head coach.
Over the last few months, Miami has replaced McDaniel with Jeff Hafley and has brought in Jon-Eric Sullivan to be their general manager after they fired Chris Grier in the middle of their 2025 campaign.
On the field, the Dolphins have moved on from some of their best and most-expensive players as well, including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, linebacker Bradley Chubb, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
With training camp right around the corner, Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon chose "experimental" as the one word to describe Miami's vibe for 2026.
"Malik Willis is an expensive experiment, as is the Green Bay South regime," Gagnon wrote. "The Dolphins are attempting a quick turnaround with a lot of unknowns."
The NFL is a quarterback-driven league, and while Willis doesn't have the best supporting cast to work with in 2026, if he plays like he did in his limited opportunities filling in for Jordan Love in Green Bay last year, the Dolphins will be better than expected and everyone involved will look very smart.
