Just read a story with a projection for all NFL teams for next year. Cards were 31st out of 32. Would have expected a lot of improvement from this past season. Injuries were brutal last season and some of the coaches did not perform adequately. Yeah, I know these types of stories are just attempts to get clicks, but still. I seriously believe the Cardinals have some excellent players on the team and that with some better coaching and fortifications through the draft and free agency, we’d be a lot better next year. Will we be the 31st worst team in the NFL next year? Man, I gotta have some hope.

Before the start of last year the Cards got some love and were projected as a play off team and then look at what happened.

I just don’t think the pundits have any faith and I don’t blame them. As fans we have faith and hope usually, they don’t and don’t want to look silly again.

Based on what?

Who? I see Trey as excellent. Who else even qualifies as a very good starter? Sweat? PJJ is probably just a good starter. Monti has had a war chest to rebuild the team and put together mostly crap.
Man, I gotta have some hope.
That's about all we have brotha.

Meh, take it for what it is.

There was a lot of noise that Seattle coming off a 10 win season was going to take a step back and be in the basement of the NFC West

NFL.com initial power ranking had them 19 and NE somewhere in the 20s and the Cardinals ahead of both at 17

espn.com had the cards 18th, SF 19th (despite identifying them as the team with the easiest schedule because they didn't play any of their 8 SB contenders......), Seattle 21 and NE 16 (then despite this spent 2 weeks playing up NE as the underdog that they didn't expect to get there)

I didn't necessarily see SB contender, but definitely saw a playoff contender with some upside with a couple things going their way - if a could things didn't then maybe closer to the year prior

CBS had Seattle 22 and NE 24

Pretty much everyone had the commanders as a legit SB contender

It's all noise and irrelevant

Not even into the off-season yet - see how the program develops and how questions are answered

The Athletic's Mike Jones today published an article, "Ranking 18 NFL teams that missed the playoffs: Who’s most likely to rebound in 2026?".

Sigh, here we go:
1. Baltimore Ravens (8-9)
2. Detroit Lions (9-8)
3. Cincinnati Bengals (6-11)
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-9)
5. Kansas City Chiefs (6-11)
6. Atlanta Falcons (8-9)
7. Washington Commanders (5-12)
8. Minnesota Vikings (9-8)
9. Dallas Cowboys (7-9-1)
10. New Orleans Saints (6-11)
11. Indianapolis Colts (8-9)
12. Cleveland Browns (5-12)
13. New York Giants (4-13)
14. Tennessee Titans (3-14)
15. Las Vegas Raiders (3-14)
16. New York Jets (3-14)
17. Miami Dolphins (7-10)

18. Arizona Cardinals (3-14)

After three fruitless seasons, Jonathan Gannon received his walking papers and now the Cardinals will give another first-year coach a try. Mike LaFleur struggled in his two seasons as offensive coordinator of the Jets and spent the last three seasons as Sean McVay’s right-hand man. Is the 38-year-old really ready to lead his own team? The Kyler Murray era seems to be over, so will the Cardinals roll with Jacoby Brissett for another bridge season?

It's probably for the best they are projected so low. Only one way to go. Worked for the Suns this year.

I know we aren't the 31st worst team though. We were hanging with every team till about the half way point, after that the team just gave up because they were already out of contention.

The odds are such that I would recommend putting $50 right now on the Cardinals to win the NFCW next year. It you lose, I’m sure you won’t even miss the $50 by the end of the season. But, if you win, it’s a nice chunk of change. I won a little money doing that with the Patriots, Bears, and Panthers. And if Danny Dimes didn’t go down, I had the Colts too.

Well, at least we’re not projected to be the worst NFL team next season.

I'm so sorry Kyler was able to break your soul.
Not mine I saw it happening and warned of it a short gimmicky Qb with a gimmicky offense has large shoe's to fill but a short Qb with somewhat of a attitude is bound to faill Most of the position is between the ears from what Ive read and apparently K1 didnt have have the desire to put the work in "Not that he didnt have the talent to do so" and thats the sad part

Are you leading the charge to take away his OROY award? Sounds like it.

No I just wasnt on the K1 bandwagon from the get go not to say he isnt/wasnt capable of taking a team to the next level he has to have a gimmicky Kingsbury type system and those are not around much anymore the NFL tends to adapt to those systems pretty quickly which is exactly what I said at the time
