I read about this last night. The Spurs announcer who was fired reportedly hooked up with a players sister, which makes things more problematic. Apparently it was Lindy Waters sister.

Even mentioning “cheating” on a girlfriend is not newsworthy or firing worthy. The Spurs have behaved oddly here. It doesn’t matter that it is the sister of a player.

Ehh... I dunno...

I agree that the "cheating" part of the story is silly, what is important is that he's banging the sister of a player, that is bonkers.

This seems like a really obvious way to get yourself fired.

Hope it was worth it bro!

Harry Caray bounced back from a similar scandal, maybe he will too!

Who was the player in the NBA that dated another player's mom? I guess you don't fire the players. LOL!

She and he are free to date who they choose. Who is her brother, or the team for that matter to tell them what to do. She is not an employee.

Sounds pretty dark ages in mentality to me. Maybe her brother had arranged a marriage for her with someone else.

Tyler Hierro is like those Bulls/Kings guards. Decent scorers, but low efficiency and bad defense, so they are net negative to the team.

What an awful contract. The Bucks are going to be so terrible going forward.

Agreed. If lucky, Trent might have gotten more than the vet min. 16 mil. per year? One of the worst (if not the worst) deals of this offseason.
If this site is up to date the Bucks can let most of the team walk next year. Only big contract left looks to be Myles Turner and he's been solid.

That team might not win 20 games. Good lord, what a disaster of a roster.

However...

With the new draft lotto rules there is potential for some real humor!

Watch, as they bench Kyle Kuzma mid-season... not because they're tanking, but because they're desperate to win and get out of the bottom 4.

Didn't Sarver famously refuse to work with Klutch?
I can't remember which player it was, but he basically said when you get different representation, then we can talk contract.

The tumultuous dynamic between the former owner and the agency featured several specific, well-documented points: [1, 2]
  • The Earl Watson Ultimatum: Just prior to the 2017-18 season, Sarver demanded that Watson sever his ties with Rich Paul and Klutch Sports Group or risk being fired Wikipedia. After a rough 0-3 start, Watson refused to leave the agency, stating "culture is not for sale," and was subsequently let go by Sarver ESPN. [1, 2]
  • The Eric Bledsoe Saga: Tensions originated around friction concerning former Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe, a Klutch Sports client who sought a contract extension during a period when the franchise was openly shutting down veteran players to tank the season Bright Side of the Sun.
  • Current Operations Under Mat Ishbia: The Phoenix Suns are now under the ownership of Mat Ishbia. The current management has actively mended fences with the agency, evidenced by Rich Paul directly collaborating with Ishbia to acquire top prospect Khaman Maluach in the draft BasketNews. Longtime NBA coach Frank Vogel has agreed to become the associate head coach for the Golden State Warriors under head coach Steve Kerr, sources tell ESPN.

It was the Bedsoe thing that turned me off to Klutch.

The Suns have approximately $260 million in salary next season. Even if they let Brooks and Green walk or trade Booker for no return they will still be over the salary cap by about $25 million. The cap is projected to be $174 million. We need to quit thinking of creating cap space as there is virtually no way to create meaningful space before Beal's dead money comes off the books.

We're paying Beal a hair shy of $20 million for the next 4 seasons, through the 29-30 season. We also have Nassir Little's deal falling off in 5 years, the 2030-31 season, but he's only tying up $3.1 million a year.

The cap is a problem because it restricts what we can do financially. The luxury taxes our owner keeps saying he will pay, but they get crazy over time, so we have to get under that number at some point. It's those damn aprons we have to worry about.

The KD deal started us down the wrong path but the Beal and Nurkic trades were unforgivable in hindsight. We should have draft picks, cap space and Toumani Camara.
