Newcastle’s thinking around a potential replacement for Will Osula is cautious and still evolving, according to Chris Waugh of The Athletic.

Per the Newcastle insider, there is a clear preference within the club for a specific type of forward rather than a like-for-like swap, in case Osula leaves the Magpies during the January transfer window or next summer.

“The Osula situation is intriguing,” Waugh wrote, noting that the 22-year-old hasn’t played for nearly two months and is still in Eintracht Frankfurt’s radar after a failed transfer last summer.
