Binghamton Rumble Ponies infielder Mitch Voit, who was promoted to Double-A Binghamton just a week prior, was named the Eastern League Player of the Week. That's the first weekly award for the team this year.
Voit came up with a career-best performance, scoring three runs and driving in five RBIs, including hitting his first Double-A solo home run on the first pitch of Binghamton’s 9-3 victory over the Reading Fightin Phils on Sunday.
The 21-year-old, currently the Mets’ No. 6 prospect, went 11-for-22 (.500) at bat and held a .593 OBP, .909 SLG, and 1.502 OPS in six games against the Philadelphia Phillies Double-A affiliate team.
The Eastern League award is Voit’s first award at any level in Minor League Baseball. It is also Binghamton’s first Eastern League weekly award since Ryan Clifford, who received the award in late July of last year.

Voit leads the Mets organization with 39 stolen bases and has produced a .260 AVG, with 12 home runs, 46 runs batted in, 57 runs and 39 extra-base hits at both High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton.
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies will open a six-game home series against the Hartford Yard Goats, the Colorado Rockies’ Double-A affiliate team, at Mirabito Stadium on Tuesday night.
