The New York Giants worked out free-agent defensive backs Tony Grimes and Ahmaad Moses on Monday.
Grimes, a former Purdue cornerback, had already been through rookie minicamps with the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers after going undrafted.
Moses, a former SMU safety, recently received medical clearance following spinal fusion surgery for a herniated disc discovered on an MRI at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Grimes, a Virginia Beach native and one-time five-star recruit, began at North Carolina before transferring to Texas A&M, UNLV and Purdue. He finished his college career with 109 tackles, 29 passes defensed and one interception.
At his pro day, Grimes ran a 4.5-second 40-yard dash, posted a 38-inch vertical and a 4.3-second short shuttle, and measured with 33.5-inch arms. He also participated in a local prospect day with the Indianapolis Colts. Scouts like his size, length, and movement skills but note he still needs refinement in coverage consistency and run support.
Moses offers a different look as a productive, physical safety. The Arlington, Texas product earned first-team All-ACC honors in 2025 after recording 104 tackles, five interceptions, three passes defensed and two fumble recoveries. He returned one interception for a touchdown and turned in a strong performance against Miami with 15 tackles and two picks.
Over his career, Moses totaled 250 tackles and eight interceptions. At 5-foot-10 and 205 pounds, he is a compact presence in the box and has proven ball skills, though teams will continue monitoring the recent back surgery.
Neither player was immediately signed to a contract.
