As the New York Giants conduct their head coaching search following the 2025 season, Kevin Stefanski has emerged as a prominent potential candidate. The two-time Coach of the Year was recently fired by the Cleveland Browns after six seasons, posting a 45-56 record, including a disappointing 5-12 mark in 2025.
Giants quarterback Jameis Winston, who played under Stefanski in Cleveland during the 2024 season, offered a strong endorsement.
"Coach Stefanski is a brilliant offensive mind, great leader, he would be an asset for any team as a head coach," Winston told NorthJersey.com. "Absolutely (he'd be a fit). He can lead anywhere."
Winston emphasized the need for structure on a young roster.
"We definitely are required to have some structure and strong leaders put in position for our team to have success because we have a very young team, and I believe it’s required for us to have stern leadership," he said, via Big Blue View.
Winston also stressed finishing games as key.
"We have to finish. That’s an accumulation of players and coaches making key choices in those key moments," he said.
Quarterback Jaxson Dart, who met Stefanski during the Browns’ pre-draft process, also spoke positively.
"Coach Stefanski was great. He's had a really good career, especially from an offensive side of things," Dart said. "I thought the visit with him and his staff really went well, and I think he’s a really good coach."
Stefanski's offensive expertise could provide the stability the Giants seek, but as of this writing, they have not publicly sought an interview.
