New Wisconsin Badgers athletic director Shawn Eichorst didn't take long before writing a letter to the Wisconsin faithful.
The University released Eichorst's message shortly after he was hired as the new athletic director.
Eichorst directed his message "To Badger Nation", and the Wisconsin native did everything in his power to win over the fans in the quickest way possible.
"It is an absolute honor and privilege to rejoin the Wisconsin Athletics family, and I am humbled to serve as your Director of Athletics," Eichorst wrote.
"My professional journey has taken me all across America, to schools big and small, but there is truly nothing like the University of Wisconsin and the incredible people who call our state home," he added. "I am a native of Lone Rock, and I understand how much pride all of you have in Wisconsin Athletics."
Eichorst continued, "Throughout my career, I have always believed that college athletics is a vehicle to change the lives of young men and women and to uplift the university that they call home, and that will not change,"
"We will hold ourselves to high standards, hold one another accountable, act with character and integrity and embrace our storied history with innovation to provide our student-athletes and coaches with the support they need for success. Athletics is at its best when it advanced the University's mission," he wrote.
His message went on, "Having spent many Saturdays in Camp Randall and evenings in the Kohl Center, I know firsthand what Badger fans are capable of. Your support means everything. Whether it is showing up, buying a season ticket, making a donation or simply serving as an ambassador for the University and for our athletic department, I am grateful to each and every one of you,"
"My family and I look forward to returning to the Madison community, and I look forward to engaging with all of you in the weeks and months ahead, to listen to your memories of Wisconsin Athletics and to hear your suggestions for how we can do better," Eichorst said.
