Second chances don't come around often, but Shawn Eichorst has a chance to prove everyone wrong.
The Wisconsin Badgers took a chance on Eichorst as their new athletic director. Eichorst was fired from Nebraska in the same role in 2017, but has since gone on to have a ton of success at the University of Texas.
Now, Eichorst returns to his home state to fill the void left by Chris McIntosh. Wisconsin didn't expect to be in this position heading into the 2026 season, but they've done everything in their power to find a suitable replacement, and it's one that has a ton of confidence in his abilities.
"Nobody will have more passion for what it is that we're doing than me, and no one will have more respect. No one will bring more character and integrity to everything that our history and tradition and mission is about," Eichorst said in a video posted by the university.
Eichorst said, "A united Wisconsin is a reckoning," and he'll have a chance to prove that starting with the 2026 football season.
