The Minnesota Vikings need to see some bounce back from their quarterback play in 2026 after a rough 2025 season that saw them flounder due to a lack of help. They enjoyed having Sam Darnold in 2024 because he was someone with the tools to be a top-end quarterback, so could they strike gold again in 2026 with another ready-made passer?
Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon not only believes that to be the case, but he also listed him as a potential MVP candidate. He included the former Heisman Trophy winner in a handful of players on the list and is someone the Vikings are banking on in a big way.
He writes, "Murray—who still has to fend off J.J. McCarthy—was a Pro Bowler in 2020 and 2021 but hasn't been near an All-Pro conversation since. The 28-year-old has missed a large portion of three of his last four seasons and was kicked to the curb by the Cardinals after a disappointing seven-year tenure. . .That was Arizona. This is Minnesota, where he'll have a superior offensive line and will be throwing to arguably the NFL's best receiver in Justin Jefferson. A new setting under Kevin O'Connell could enable the 2019 No. 1 overall pick to finally live up to his unique and considerable talent in his age-29 season."
The Vikings' Super Bowl window is a tight one, but if Murray rises to the occassion with his play then the sky is the limit.
