New Steelers WR Michael Pittman Jr Speaks On Aaron Rodgers Uncertainty originally appeared on SportsNet Pittsburgh. Add SportsNet Pittsburgh as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
It certainly seems like Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be under center in the first year with new head coach Mike McCarthy. However, for those saying that the Steelers organization secretly knows where his head is at, new wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. disagrees.
Coming by way of the Indianapolis Colts just last month, Pittman doesn’t know much about Pittsburgh -- including who will be throwing him the football.
“I think Aaron’s close to making a decision. But then again, I don’t know,” Pittman told Yahoo Sports. “I haven’t talked to him in a couple weeks. We’re all waiting to figure out with the rest of you.
“People think we know. We know nothing.”
Pittman’s Friday was jam-packed with media appearances, as he went on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” that same day to discuss his quarterback’s future.
“You guys gotta understand, Aaron’s gonna do what he wants,” Pittman said. “I don’t think that I could convince him any other way because obviously, Aaron has done more than just about any other NFL player in the league.
“If he’s ready to come back, then he’ll come back.”
Coming off a season in which Rodgers threw for more yards than the reigning Super Bowl MVP, Jalen Hurts, there shouldn’t be a question about whether or not he is still capable of performing at a high level.
