I think Doug and Wold nailed it today. We are now drafting a C in the first round, which is about the right place for that position. We might even be able to hop out of the first round and pick up a legit starting C in the second round and acquire picks in the process.

LS? I have no idea who is out there. They may just bring in a bunch of guys during Training Camp and let them compete like they do for other ST players.
I just went over game film on the top centers. There is only one that I see that can start day one and that is Ryan Kelley. We would have to take him in the first round. He won't be there in the third round. I think he would be a solid pick and would be cheap for the next four years.

Agree he won't be there in the 3rd Round. I'm thinking we can trade back to early second round, pick up some compensation, and still get him.

Keim did talk about possibly drafting or signing a center.

The $6m seems like a lot, hopefully it is incentive based. I like the movve however. I thought I read somewhere yesterday the Cards are about 10M under the cap, this cuts that to around 4M. They can free up more money by releasing Dwash even though Id rather see him play. The only real whole is that CB2 position. This has to be addressed before center or RT. RT we have some competition there, center can draft, but CB2 needs to come from free agency.

Yeah, seems like draft has some depth at center. Could trade down and still have a good shot at a Martin or Allen later on.

I like Evan Boehm, Missouri at the end of the 3rd or gamble that he is there at end of the 4th.

Great....Now sign Dansby & Powers and call it a day.

This and we are upgraded significantly from last season to the level of maybe turning the tables on Carolina with some good moves in the draft. And please, I do not want to hear any crap about the man cannot pass block, because he is rated in the middle of all guards in pass blocking and is a freaking stud in run blocking... point blank!

both of our starting guards graded top three in run blocking over the past five years..... looks like we may have a power run game in the desert

It's pretty obvious Shipley was blown up enough in training camp to prompt the coaching staff to reach out and bring back Sendlein.

Are these Seahawks fans, or just Cardinals quotes you've been saving from 10 years ago?

Lol. We sure used to be a team that said those things about other teams, now even seahawk fans are noticing the consistent moves we're making.

If you're on your phone or something, no those are quotes on a seahawks board in direct response to our moves after the Mathis signing. The weblink is right there in that post.

An interesting thing — for a team that wants a power running game, we've signed a couple of primarily zone-blocking offensive linemen as free agents. Mathis was an ordinary journeyman in Reid's power running scheme, and then blossomed in Chip's zone-blocking scheme and Kubiak's.

If you want a deep dive, Word of Muth wrote of the Denver OL all season at Football Outsiders.
