A new judge has been assigned for Charles Bediako in his effort to use his last semester of college eligibility with Alabama basketball.

After a motion for recusal was made by the NCAA, Judge James "Jim" Roberts agreed to step away from the case, which was to be reassigned by Tuscaloosa Circuit Court judge Allen May.

According to court documents obtained by The Tuscaloosa News on Wednesday, Jan. 28, May − who earned his law degree from the University of Alabama and his undergrad degree from Auburn − appointed Daniel Pruet, who earned his bachelor's from UA, to preside over the case.

Pruet is also the judge for the murder trial surrounding former Alabama basketball player Darius Miles.

With an extra ten days added to his temporary restraining order, which was initially granted by Roberts, have allowed Bediako to keep playing with the Crimson Tide.

Bediako's next game with Alabama will take place on Sunday, Feb. 1 in Gainesville, Fla. against Florida.
