Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes hit the transfer portal hard, looking for all the defensive line help they could get.
One of the many additions is EDGE Yamil Talib, a transfer from Charlotte and nephew of former NFL star Aquib Talib. Yamil was recently featured in a Darius Sanders video discussing his expectations for the upcoming 2026 football season.
Unsurprisingly, his expectations are set sky high for his first season in Boulder.
"I want to compete for the Big 12 Championship," Talib said. "That's what I want to look forward to this season."
Talib was not part of the 3-9 2025 squad, which won only one Big 12 Conference game, but clearly sees something in the 2026 Colorado squad. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound defensive lineman signed with the Oklahoma State Cowboys in 2024 before transferring to Charlotte ahead of the 2025 season. With the 49ers, Talib recorded 28 tackles, four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
While Talib might not be the most productive pass rusher the Buffaloes have added to the mix, he certainly should have a role as a pass rush specialist.
