The Indianapolis Colts have one of the most uniquely complicated quarterback situations the NFL has seen in a long time.
The team selected Anthony Richardson with the fourth overall pick back in 2023 knowing very well that he was a project, but just over two years later they are running out of patience.
After a second straight underwhelming, injury riddled season the Colts decided to conduct a quarterback competition and brought in former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones to do it.
With two players at the position who have been a disappointment up to this point in their career, it is not out of the realm of possibility for whoever wins the camp battle to struggle as a starter.

Now that Indianapolis has forced Richardson into a competition to defend his starting spot, everything appears to be on the table at the quarterback position.
This should include taking a quarterback in next year’s draft if the right one is available.
The 33rd Team is predicting the first round of the 2026 NFL draft, and they have the Colts selecting a superstar.
They have Indianapolis taking Arch Manning with the No. 8 pick.
Some people have him as the second or third best quarterback in the draft, but his talent is inescapable, and his pedigree is unmatched.
Manning has a cannon for an arm and might be the first person in his bloodline to be athletic.
He can make almost any throw on the football field and is surprisingly quick as well.
The real draw of the Texas quarterback is being the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning who will inevitably give him advice and guide him throughout his college and NFL journey.
Another aspect is that he is coached by the legendary Steve Sarkisian whose offense has translated to NFL success many times in the past.
Given the circumstances, there is a real chance that Manning becomes the best quarterback in the draft and one of the best in the NFL.
The Colts would get the franchise quarterback they have been searching for and finally have a chance to compete for Super Bowls.
If this is how the draft will fall next year, then it may be beneficial for Indianapolis to fail this year.
