Nebraska men's basketball continues to add to its 2026-27 nonconference schedule on Tuesday, announcing its fourth neutral-site game. The Huskers will travel to Chicago to face Butler in late November.
This marks the fourth clash between the schools, with the most recent matchup being an 80-76 Nebraska win in the first round of the 2019 NIT. This also marks the Huskers' first regular-season battle with the Bulldogs since late December 1986. The Huskers lead, 3-1, in the series.
Butler enters a new era under first-year head coach Ronald Nored, who joins his alma mater after a coaching journey in the NBA. Nored served as an assistant coach in the NBA, including time with the Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers and most recently the Atlanta Hawks.
He now joins a Butler team that finished 16-16 last year, its second-best season post the 2020-2021 COVID season. The Bulldogs are bringing back five players from last season’s roster and seven newcomers.
The matchup takes place at the Credit Union 1 Arena, home of the Illinois-Chicago Flames, on Sunday, Nov. 22. Ticket information, tipoff time, and broadcast information will be announced later this summer.
