Nebraska softball grabbed its third transfer from the portal on Friday, picking up a star outfielder from the Mid-American Conference. Toledo outfielder Samantha Bolding announced she is committing to Nebraska.
Bolding made the announcement following two seasons at Toledo, where she put together a strong start to her collegiate career. This past season, she batted .354 for the Rockets, delivering 52 hits, 39 runs scored, 35 RBIs, 13 home runs and 10 doubles across 47 games. The Greenfield, Indiana, native also earned a .687 slugging percentage, a .463 on-base percentage and a 1.150 OPS.
Bolding also stood out in her first year, winning MAC Freshman of the Year in 2025 and making second team All-MAC. In her freshman season, she finished with a .322 batting average with 46 hits, 38 RBIs, 31 runs scored, 13 home runs and eight doubles.
Head coach Rhonda Revelle spoke highly of Holding, focusing on her offensive capabilities.

“Sammie adds a powerful bat to our team, as she belted 13 home runs and 10 doubles last season. She is an athletic, versatile defensive player who also packs a punch offensively. We are ecstatic Sammie chose Nebraska, as she will be an important piece of the puzzle in our success in 2027.”
