Kansas freshman Darryn Peterson will reportedly only visit with one team ahead of the 2026 NBA draft, according to Shams Charania and Jeremy Woo of ESPN.

Peterson was a second-team All-Big 12 selection, averaging 20.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 38.2% from 3-point range. He led the team in scoring, ranking fourth among all players in the conference.

The 6-foot-6 guard has met with the Washington Wizards, who have the No. 1 overall pick, but he doesn't plan to visit any other team, including the Utah Jazz, who pick second. He is in the conversation to be the top pick on June 23, along with BYU freshman AJ Dybantsa.

Developments ahead of the June 23-24 NBA draft: BYU's AJ Dybantsa has conducted formal visits with both the Washington Wizards (No. 1) and Utah Jazz (No. 2) while Kansas' Darryn Peterson only visited the Wizards and does not plan to grant anyone else a meeting, sources tell me…

Peterson was limited to 24 games due to various health issues, including cramping, which he said was caused by high doses of creatine. He managed the issue throughout the season and eventually had it mostly under control by the conclusion of the regular season.

Despite Peterson electing not to visit the Jazz, the team is still favored to select him with the second pick. The organization infamously drafted Ace Bailey last year with the fifth pick after he and his representation opted not to visit with them.

Peterson isn't expected to fall further than the Jazz at No. 2 after a tremendous freshman campaign with the Jayhawks. He is considered a potential franchise-changing prospect and should be a good fit with either the Wizards or the Jazz.
