Former Green Bay Packers assistant coach Nathaniel Hackett is changing his plans for the 2026 season. While originally reported to be taking on the quarterbacks coach job for Jeff Hafley and the Miami Dolphins, Hackett is now expected to become the offensive coordinator for Mike LaFleur and the Arizona Cardinals, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Cardinals hired Mike LaFleur, Matt LaFleur's younger brother, this week. He will bring Hackett to Arizona, providing a veteran coach who is well-versed in the system LaFleur is likely to install with the Cardinals.
Hackett, an experienced offensive coordinator, spent three seasons as Matt LaFleur's offensive coordinator in Green Bay (2019-21). He returned to Green Bay in 2025 after failed stints as the Denver Broncos head coach and New York Jets offensive coordinator. Last season, Hackett was an analyst working with Hafley's defensive staff.
Hackett previously worked as an offensive coordinator for Syracuse, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Packers and Jets.
Mike LaFleur, who was the offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Rams under Sean McVay from 2023 to 2025, is likely to call plays for the Cardinals.
