Nate Wiggins’ speed and athletic ability were apparent long before the Baltimore Ravens selected him in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. Mike Mickens has been more impressed by the work taking place beyond the highlight plays.

Wiggins enters his third season positioned to become Baltimore’s top outside cornerback. He has been one of the defense’s standout performers during the opening practices of training camp after declaring himself fully healthy.
His 4.28-second speed gives him the recovery ability to survive mistakes that would become completions against most cornerbacks. Mickens wants Wiggins to develop the recognition and technical consistency that reduce the frequency with which he must rely on that speed. The coach also values the confidence Wiggins brings to the room.
