NASCAR has finished its 19th weekend of the 2026 Cup Series season, as Corey Heim won at San Diego for his first victory of the year. Heim was all good with inspections; however, there is one penalty coming from the weekend in San Diego. It was expected after the activities in California.
The No. 23 team for 23XI Racing was penalized after a wheel came off the car during the Cup Series event. As a result, crew members Adam Hartman and Nathan Ricketts have been suspended from the next two NASCAR Cup Series races through Chicagoland Speedway. No other penalties were handed out for 23XI Racing.
It was the only penalty issued during the NASCAR weekend, as the Truck and O'Reilly Series were all good.
With the penalty out of the way, NASCAR can now focus on Sonoma Raceway, as the Cup and O'Reilly Series will battle on the track.
