Name The Top 10 Players In The Draft

I don't think there are 10 players I want. There are 7.

1. Gallery
2. Manning
3. Fitzgerald
4. S. Taylor
5. M. Williams
6. Roethlisberger
7. Winslow

Looking at the other key players in the draft with the nominal amount of research I do, I have a gut feeling that Roy Williams will bust in the NFL. I'm prepared to be wrong on that and I don't think its lack of talent, I believe he will be an injury risk his whole (3-4 year) career.

I think Udeze is good enough, but has not shown me top 10 talent yet, just top 10 potential and I'm not a fan of drafting potential. On that note, it was tough for me to include Roethlisberger on the list. I'd be extremely happy if the Cards picked any of my top 5 whether they trade up, down or stand pat. Those are the guys that I think are NFL money.

I don't know if you saw any of the combine coverage, but that guy was awesome.

He ran like a 4.34, and his ability to spin, shift his hips and accelerate was like watching some kind of circus freak.

It was literally like watching with the vcr on FF. Hopefully, we'll take a CB with our 2nd pick, and either he or Strait will still be available.

I understand the surprise or skepticism at Jackson at #2. I really think the guy is under rated and a difference maker. I don't like the Cards RB cast and think that Jackson could make an immediate impact. I am an old timer and have the mindset that WRs are a dime a dozen and should not be taken as high as other positions. That was the philosophy for a long time. RBs and QBs are huge difference makers and I feel he is the top RB in this years draft. I think if one looked back at Top 5 picks in past drafts, RBs far out number WRs and this years prognosticators seem to come up with an inordiante number in this years 1st round.

Just my opinion.

I've heard he had a great combine, but that's not enough to convince me that he's a top ten player either.

I wanted Suggs last year after watching him tear up the competition in college, but slowly began to sour on him once he had such a poor workout.

Well I learned my lesson....this is football, not the strong man competition. Follow what you see on TV/film more and forget about the workouts (or at least have the workouts to prove that your eyes are right).

If we drafted on workouts alone, Quan wouldn't have been a 2nd rounder, he might not have been drafted at all. I keep hearing the same arguments about Fitz...not enough speed. It makes me wonder if people really watched him play, because he was plenty fast last year.

Dunta was good at SC, but not that good. Other than his athleticism, he is no better than 50 other prospects.

Wilfork is a pretty good player but he disappears at times, and Udeze wasn't even close to as good as Williams was on the same team plus he has some questionmarks.

Make no mistake: I really, really like Mike Williams. More than Fitzgerald. I was putting a little different spin on my list this time: I was rating the prospects by the most "sure thing" to be outstanding NFL players. I think that there's more risk to Williams than even Fitzgerald in this aspect, partially because he's so young and kind of a blank slate when it comes to character issues (he didn't declare in time to be interviewed at the Combine).

I think that it's "easier" for a 2-Gap DT or DE to excel in the NFL than a WR, especially such a young one as M. Williams. His talent and potential makes him a Top 5 or 7 prospect, but I think that he his a pretty big "bust" potential. That's all.
