Germany trained in blazing sunshine on the hottest day yet at their US training ground on Friday as they looked forward to their World Cup opener inside an air-conditioned stadium in Houston.

Sunday's game under a roof against debutants Curaçao could be a welcome relief from the over 30 degrees Celsius seen at their North Carolina base.

All 27 players including practice goalkeeper Jonas Urbig trained on the Wake Forest University campus on the eve of their trip to Texas.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann cooled down at one point under a sprinkler. During drink breaks, a fan at the touchline also provided a cooling water mist.

"Of course it is extremely hot but we already knew that beforehand," defender Jonathan Tah said on Thursday about the conditions.

"You handle it worst if you complain about it. You should accept it. We have everything we need to offset it as well as possible. It will be important to blank it out and focus on what matters."
