INDIANAPOLIS -- Pacers center Myles Turner has been ruled out of tonight's 7 p.m. game against the Sacramento Kings with an illness, the Pacers posted on their social media accounts Monday afternoon. That means Turner will miss a rematch with former frontcourt made Domantas Sabonis
Guard Bennedict Mathurin had already been ruled out Sunday with left calf soreness.
Turner is averaging 15.4 points per game this season on 48% shooting including a career-best 40.1% 3-point shooting. He's hit 143 total 3-pointers this season, by far a career high. He's also second on the Pacers in rebounding with 6.6 rebounds per game. The Pacers' all-time leading rebounder is also second in the NBA in blocks per game among players with a qualifying number of games with 1.9.
With Turner out, the Pacers will look to backups Thomas Bryant and Tony Bradley to fill the void, though they could also use power forwards Pascal Siakam and Obi Toppin to take up minutes at the 5. Bryant, acquired in a trade from the Heat on Dec. 15, is averaging 6.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Bradley, who was signed to two 10-day contracts before signing a full-time deal, is averaging 3.4 points per game on 78% shooting.
