I can see why the Browns moved on from Garret with their situation.

But, I can't get over how little they got for the best player in the league.

That'd be like the Cards trading Larry. at 30, to the Eagles for DeSean Jackson, a late 1st and some secondary picks.

And Garret is more dominant than Larry.

I guess it doesn't affect the Cards that much but a great trade for the Rams.

Who's a better GM, Les Snead or Monti?

I don't get people at all. We know we don't have a QB - that means we are going to suck.

You should not get mad when we don't trade for an old expensive pass rusher. That is a move you make when you are going for broke for the championship because your QB has 1 year left before he retires.

This move makes sense for the Rams - but it makes zero sense for the Cards. If you are just mad the Cards are in the position they are in fine - but don't act like Monti should have done a deal like this - number 1 - no player that wants to win a title before they retire is going to be happy being traded here. If you doubt that look at Josh Sweat, he wants out right now and like it or not players that don't want to play for you don't give full effort and don't make for a winning environment.

Remember when Garrett was crying about an extension then gets one. Suddenly he does and absolutely loves Cleveland.

Through the Garrett and Rams trade I see a business but gee whiz quit lying already. And furthermore I see Sweat trying to get out of Arizona that's fine. His team only won 3bball games last season with us so don't try to play like you've won those 3 games yourself because guess what , you lost 14 too. Someone want to walk out let them go don't come back

When did Sweat say he wanted out?

So, the Cardinals response to Rams acquiring Myles Garrett is to trade away their best pass rusher?

For the love of Christ, please fire Monti upon completion of this trade.
By now, EVERYONE on this board should realize that the problem is NOT Monti. The problem is and has ALWAYS been our moron ownership. This isn’t rocket science. When your franchise has sucked for as long as this one has, there’s only one family to blame.

wow... just freaking WOW!!!

******* Rams.....

Redbirds?? Cardinals???

Hell fellas...we gonna have to start sacrificing some virgins...Serious mojo is the only thing thats gonna help us.... serious ****** mojo.

Rams are now Odds-On favorites to go to the SB for at least the next three years.

Cleveland?? Sad for their fans I guess... but they got to dump some cap...they needed some relief with this and the watson ********...
They got a young talented up and comer so there isnt a huge void in their defense... and the 3 picks will help seed their team with young talent as their cap clears up..... if they play it out right Cleveland could come out the other side really strong
...so they got an extra first in the 27 draft.... we all know they are seriously fixated on QB these past couple seasons....and now they have plenty of ammo to make a move if they want too...
if they dont go QB then an extra first round pick is always good.
the second round pick in 28 and third in 29...pure icing on the cake.
.
all in all... Trading Myles Garrett for Jared Verse and a first...seems a poor personnel decision...even with a 2nd and 3rd as kickers....
But when you look at where their team as a whole is...and their current trajectory,,... this could be a very schrewd move...

the AFC north is overall one of the most talented divisions in the league... but the least talented team has been owning it...
But, the coach is gone and the stillers seem primed for a rebuild period...
then Baltimore fired...fired....the winningest coach in their team history....still inexplicable,..but they did it...then you got the bungles,...the fan run team... the guys who will max out their cap space to sign any guy that keeps them on the ESPN highlight segment... but let the belly and backbone of the team be scantily manned with rookies, who-dats, and has beens ....
Cleveland might be making a really savvy move...making a move to position themselves for dominance at a time their division is in flux.

But theyre the browns.....

When the Cards play the Rams twice, they're going to give Paris trip reman and a RB every passing down. And Paris is good.
They'll be playing 9 on 11 every play.

What a great move by the Rams.
a decent OC can scheme around garrett without triple teaming him, lol...
you generally beat a strong pass rusher by running directly at him...
cant do it every play because they get too many chances and in the end they will get you... but 8 or 10 times a game you take advantage of his aggressiveness to make a hole...for a guy like Love to exploit...let him beat that OT..as long as he goes "either" left or right...a good RB is past him....if he straight runs over the tackle you got a problem though....
run at him
throw away from him...
much preferable to face rather than the center of the offensive line collapsing like it has been doing against seattle.

I don't think anyone is lamenting the fact that we didn't (or wouldn't) make this move, I think the tenor is just that we are so far off from even being able to contemplate such a move that it's irritating. Am I reading these posts from my fellow ASFN'ers wrong?

We know we don't have a QB - that means we are going to suck.

Bo Nix lead the Broncos to the #1 seed in the AFC. Aaron Rodgers started a playoff game and posted a season-long QBR of 44.2 (50 is average).

Bryce Young started a playoff game at home! San Francisco went 5-3 with Mac Jones at QB.

QB is not an excuse. Monti is choosing not to be competitive for the third out of four seasons at the helm. The season he tried to compete for the playoffs, his team went 3-14.

People are mad because we’re fans of a team that has already quit on another season.

Let me ask you this - We drafted Josh Rosen at #10 - a much much more highly rated rookie than Beck.

Did we suck?

In my estimation I have never seen us suck more.

Is it possible we struck gold, and we have our QB of the future - yes it is remotely possible. Should we be acting like that seriously unlikely scenerio is going to play out - NO.

Think about what you are saying - Calais did not want to resign here- despite last season wanting to come back and retire here - why? He knows we are going to suck - or at least the odds are extremely high that we will.

Vegas - who is actually very good at picking win totals historically thinks we are going to suck. We have the hardest schedule I have ever seen, and a brand new head coach. New coaches almost never make the playoffs their first year.

There is absolutely no reason to act like we are not a rebuilding team - We very clearly are. Monti would be as stupid as most on this board think he is if he didn't know that fact.

No, I don't think we are that far away.

I think we are a good QB, a RT and a couple of good Dline / pass rushers away. Over all our talent is not terrible.

The QB is the real issue. I guarantee you if you put Josh Allen on the Cards they would win 10-12 games and make the playoffs as is.

We werent competing with the Rams this year, this trade is good for us long term.
lol... right... because THIS time, it's only a matter of time before the Cards catch up to them... as opposed to the last almost decade where Cardinals fans have said this and been proven laughably wrong time and time again.

LOL again... you guys are killing me. We're not that far away... we're just THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECES (outside of one LT) OF ANY GOOD TEAM away from being a good team.

Agree. A nasty, violent front seven is far more important than a good QB.
