With seemingly each passing day, a new sign points toward Aaron Donald potentially coming out of retirement and returning to the Los Angeles Rams. On Friday, he was spotted working out at the Rams’ facility in Woodland Hills, something he’s reportedly done frequently in his two years since retiring.
Then on Saturday night, Myles Garrett posted a photo of his framed and signed Aaron Donald jersey with the caption, “Unpacking” and a shrugging emoji. Donald’s message to Garrett on the jersey was “Keep ballin, stay hungry + stay grindin”.
Naturally, Garrett’s post sent fans into a frenzy, speculating about what it means for Donald’s plans this season. Does Garrett know something that we don’t? Is Garrett really just unpacking and getting settled into his new place. Regardless, he knew what he was doing with this post.
It’s a bat signal to the Rams legend, who’s thinking about teaming up with Garrett for one season in L.A.
Fans on the Rams subreddit are convinced this means Donald is coming out of retirement to play for the Rams, though there has been no confirmation of that happening just yet.
Garrett would love to play alongside Donald, but he said he hasn't been trying to recruit him. He's letting Donald make the decision on his own time, but no matter what, it's at least in consideration for the former All-Pro defensive tackle.
With training camp around the corner, we should get some more clarity on Donald's plans in the coming weeks and months.
