You know me, I like Irving a lot more than Martez Wilson. When I watch film on Wilson, I just don't see the excitement. He looks a bit stiff to me, while Irving looks explosive and makes plays in the backfield.

When a QB calls plays like "36" in college, that shows me that he isn't ready for NFL verbiage. Coupled with the off-the-field issues and his unorthodox playstyle, and I wouldn't touch Newton with an early 1st rounder. IMO none of the QBs are worthy of a top 15 selection, and the problem with missing on a 1st rounder is that even a so-so defender is still moderately productive. A so-so QB likely doesn't play.

Curtis Brown is a good selection and would give us good CB depth (as would Culliver who would shore up that swing Safety-CB position) but I'm not a fan of Matthews. Matthews IMO is a guy who's upside is really good special teamer, and I think it's folly to ever draft a guy who you can't view being an NFL starter. He's just too limited physically to be an NFL starter at ILB.

DeMarcus Love played tackle, but he likely has the feet to be a very good guard since his feet aren't good enough to play tackle. Love would be a nice find late since he's played in a big time conference and at such a demanding position. He could probably fill the G-T swing backup position, backing up Keith at RT as well as Hadnot at guard.
