The Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens mascot Muddonna has been honored among the best minor league mascots in the country in the 2026 USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards.
The Mud Hens, who have been Major League Baseball's Detroit Tigers’ Triple-A affiliate since 1987, play at Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo, Ohio, which is about an hour away from Detroit.
Muddonna, who joined the team in 2003, is one of two mascots for the Toledo-based team and wears a pinstriped dress and baseball cap.
The duo, including Muddy the Mud Hen, appears in over 300 public events annually, according to the MLB.

The Toledo Mud Hens open their season at 6:05 p.m. on Friday, March 27 against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The game will be available on Bally Sports Live, MiLB.TV, the team website says.
Muddy and Muddonna appear at over 300 public events annually, the team said.
"The duo are among the most famous mascots in sports, receiving national recognition in publications like Sports Illustrated, Baseball Weekly, the Detroit Free Press and the Detroit News," the Mud Hens said.
Muddy or Muddonna will appear events with prices beginning as low as $80.
