It’s Wednesday and we are back at it. Take a look at the links from around the Western conferences as well as around the college sports world.

Air Force Preview

The Falcons are looking to rebound after two disappointing seasons. The offense will be led by their star dual-threat QB, and depth at running back spots, and return a few players along the line. That being said, they lost their top receivers and need to find a way to get some of their backup QBs on the field to be playmakers. The defense was poor last year, but now has experience coming into 2026. They have studs at linebacker and on the edge and the safeties should be strong, which will be good. But Air Force needs to replace everyone up front and they need to figure out how to stop the pass. CFN thinks they will go 7-5, but that’s projecting an upset win or two, so we will see.

UTEP’s 2026 outlook.

Our friends at Under Dog Dynasty look at UTEP, which is departing from their coverage circle and entering our own. They need to replace all 11 starters on offense, but they added some intriguing players through the transfer portal. With the defense, there is a core player returning at each level. The schedule is brutal to start the year, with two big-time P4 programs before a tough but not impossible conference schedule. It looks like 3 or 4 wins would be a nice accomplishment.

2026 Most Experienced Football Rosters.

Cody Nagel of CBS Sports ranks all 138 FBS teams in terms of snaps played. UNLV is the first team in either conference out west at #60, joined by SDSU and Boise State also in the top 70. Many others are found in the top 100, including New Mexico, Utah State, Texas State, Fresno State, Hawaii, and Washington State. On the other side of the equation, North Dakota State is the bottom team, but mainly because all their returning players didn’t play any FBS snaps last year so it’s a bit misleading. But Northern Illinois, SJSU, UTEP, and Wyoming are all bottom-15 teams as well.
