NIL Deal Overload.
The College Sports Commission, which was created to address and approve NIL deals, has come out and stated they are flooded with the number of school-affiliated deals and are not equipped to handle them. The CEO calls many of these “manufactured NIL deals,” meaning players are getting paid and having to do little in the spirit of name, image, and likeness in return. It’s also noteworthy to remember that these are workaround deals because any deals by third-parties do not count against the school revenue sharing cap, which is $20.5 million.
Rams notice the difference in spring ball
The Jim Mora era has started and it already feels different. For the veterans coach, it was a “pretty average start” in his estimation, as he attempts to fill the spring with pressure, uncertainty, and some chaos to mimic what occurs during the season. He loved the attitude and investment of the team. Mora is hoping that by the end of spring, he is able to identify the playmakers, as well as who can be trusted and who is dependable on the team.
