With 190 runs already in the bag from the England series and still counting, Iyer has now gone past Suryakumar Yadav's 156-run haul from the South Africa tour in 2023, along with Virat Kohli's 134 runs during the 2020 series in Australia.
It's telling that even as India's results have gone from bad to worse, Iyer's own batting hasn't dipped; if anything, he's been the one player consistently holding things together with the bat.
