My experience is reversed. I don't like the Dallas area, I do like SF although its too expensive to live there. Dallas is better than Houston, I hated Houston.

In Texas, I would only live from the Brazos through the Hill Country. Cities, Austin and San Antonio are better than the big 2 in Texas.
