Very Cool! I really like the night picture. The windows between the vertical bands are cool. It also looks like the top is semi-transparent...look at the night picture.

I really don't like the new design...is this the final..final plan?

With the windows...won't that create odd angles of sun shining in on the field?

The windows probably will be built to diffuse the sunlight to avoid any direct lighting problems.

I know it would be hella expensive, but is there any chance that instead of that bluish steel they could make it more arizona and make it copper on the outside?

Yeah we used to call it the "toaster" when I lived in phoenix. Anyone else call the library that? Its the same shape and has a big slot that goes down the middle of the building.

Red would mean that you would have to keep repainting it. But copper requires no paint. But then again, like I said, it would be HELLA expensive.

But using that much copper would be a great boost to the state's economy - after all, Arizona is the nation's leading producer of copper, and the two largest copper mining companies are headquartered in Arizona. Just think of all the miners that that much copper sheeting would put back to work.

In reading the description of the design idea on azcardinals.com, I guess this is what we have,

TB (old) "the big sombrero"
Balt - "the crab cake"
AZ- "The cactus!"

Maybe they shoud paint it green and put thorns sticking out of it!

And a big rattlesnake statue in the parking lot!

If not having the strips be all copper then at least have copper be a prominent design accent. I think that is a great idea!!

BTW: Since Mile High has the horse on top of the stadium and Ericsson has the 2 big panthers outside the gates - any thoughts about having a vicious - kick ass cardinal in front of our place?

Actually the strips look to be transparent.

Which strips are you referring to?

I re-read what I wrote and I think it was not very clear so let's try it again.

I think using copper is a great idea. But making the vertical bands out of copper would be very expensive. As an alternate to save on cost - maybe the outside edge of each vertical band could be copper. If not that, then use copper as a MAJOR design accent in the rest of the building.

I hope that is clearer.....I only had two cups of coffee today so my brain is a little slow....:p

What exactly is a vicious kick-ass cardinal? You've been watching too many of those Jake Plummer / United Way commercials. :)

(I know you were kidding) :)

I hope
