Pittsburgh radio last night quoted his father as saying that he will not only make a full recovery, but will play football again.
I really, really would have to question his sanity and I hope the league steps in and tell him it's not a good idea. I admire his gumption but he broke his back and is JUST starting to regain feelings in his legs. This guy has to think players like Mike Utley and Dennis Byrd(RIP). I've always said you don't F around with your neck, back, or heart.

Or the Bills TE who also made a full recovery on his injury.

I think his bills need to be paid and will never make this type of money again in his lifetime.

He made enough with his signing bonus that should allow him to live comfortably for the rest of his life. If he blew it then don't know what to tell him.

Saw some headlines which said the same thing. Wonder if that is the father expressing his opinion or the son's actual desire and intent to play again?

That desire will give him the motivation to move forward in his recovery. Doubt he'll ever play again, but at this point he needs to be as positive as possible.

This. He's gotta have some kind of goal to aim for during a difficult rehab. He may never play again, but the drive is what keeps him working towards recovery

I posted this last year during the playoffs, regarding spearing by Shazier

Once again the Stealers are getting help from the refs. Shazier needs to be ejected and suspended for the next game

 Uh, yeah, I don't think you need to be concerned about Shazier being on the field for any games in the near future. . .

He says he wants to play again but watching him walk, I admire his passion but he needs to focus on himself and his family. He's damned lucky he's as well as he is. Guys like Mike Utley weren't as lucky as he. And I agree, kudos to the Stealers for doing that for him. He should be financially set.
