Abrams is continuing his strong season. Entering the week, he leads MLB shortstops in OPS. He is one of four MLB shortstops with double-digit home runs and stolen bases.

2. Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati Reds

De La Cruz missed almost all of June after suffering a hamstring injury. Still, his production has placed him among the league leaders at the shortstop position. Barring another injury setback, De La Cruz can finish the season near the top of all offensive categories among MLB shortstops.

3. Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals

The superstar quickly rebounded following a quiet March and April. Entering the week, he leads MLB shortstops in stolen bases. The Royals need their superstar shortstop to show no ill signs of the MCL sprain he was diagnosed with on Friday.

4. Colson Montgomery, Chicago White Sox

The second-year shortstop is blossoming into a future superstar. Entering the week, Montgomery has reached 20 home runs and has become the sixth fastest player to reach 40 home runs in MLB history. The possibility is strong that Colson Montgomery represents the American League in the upcoming All-Star Game.

5. Otto Lopez, Miami Marlins

Lopez is having the most underrated season of any MLB player. Entering the week, he leads MLB in hits and is the first player to reach 100 hits on the season. The Marlin will represent the National League in July’s Mid-Summer Classic.

6. Kevin McGonigle, Detroit Tigers

McGonigle is having a solid rookie season. He’s not getting the attention he deserves due to his lack of high home run and RBI totals. He enters Week 14 leading MLB rookies in hits.

7. Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels

Neto strikes out often, but when he connects, he sends the baseball a long way. Entering the week, he ranks near the top in home runs among MLB shortstops. He is one of two MLB shortstops with 16 home runs and double-digit stolen bases.

8. Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles

Henderson continues to sell out for power. This has led to a high number of strikeouts. Entering the week, Henderson is one of four MLB shortstops to have reached 15 home runs.

9. Ezequiel Duran, Texas Rangers

The veteran is on his way to having a career year. He has been one of Texas’s best offensive producers this season. Entering the week, he is in the top five in doubles among MLB shortstops.

10. Jeremy Pena, Houston Astros

Pena has caught fire after missing a month of the season with a hamstring injury. Last week, he was one of three MLB shortstops to hit three home runs. Houston needs continued production as they look to rebound from missing the playoffs in 2025.
