Witt Jr. continues to be one of the game’s best shortstops. He has all the tools a team can want in a shortstop. Through seven weeks, Witt Jr. is getting on base and stealing bases often.
Lopez is having a fantastic start to the season. Entering the week, he leads MLB shortstops in hits. He’s been a key contributor in Miami’s offense.

The veteran is off to his best start in recent years. He’s hitting for power and driving in runs. If he can continue producing, he can have one of the best seasons of his career.
Henderson has struggled to consistently get on base, but he’s provided healthy power numbers. Baltimore is struggling in the AL East and needs Henderson to find more consistency. By the end of the season, Henderson will be a top-five MLB shortstop.
Sep 9, 2025; Anaheim, California, USA; Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto (9) heads out for the ninth inning against the Minnesota Twins at Angel Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Gary A. Vasquez-Imagn Images
Neto continues to put his power on display. His on-base percentage is lower than he wants, but it will improve throughout the season. The Angels hit the nail on the head when they drafted Zach Neto.
Wilson is a hitting machine. He doesn’t possess insane power, but his bat-to-ball skills are some of the best in MLB. The Athletics need their shortstop to stay healthy if they want to compete for the AL West. He is battling an injury at the moment.
Caballero has run away with the starting shortstop job in New York. Early in his career, he was a platoon player who stole bases at a high rate. This season, he can set career highs across the board. He unfortunately hit the IL this week.
