MLB's First All-Star Ballot Update Has No Red Sox Players Represented originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The 2026 MLB All-Star Game is in 29 days, and the Boston Red Sox currently don't have any players in line to be voted into the Midsummer Classic.
The first ballot update of the season was revealed on Monday and no Red Sox representatives were listed among the top vote getters at their respective positions.
There are just 10 days remaining in the voting process.
Boston first baseman Willson Contreras is currently the closest to making the cut, but closer Aroldis Chapman and starting pitcher Sonny Gray could be other possible candidates.
"No Red Sox players are in the top five at any position in the All-Star balloting, Willson Contreras is sixth," Red Sox insider Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe posted on Bluesky. "Chapman, Gray, and Contreras are good candidates. But the Sox could well be one of those teams that get one player because everybody has to be represented."
"All-Star voting ends June 25! Vote 5x a day to send your Sox to Philly: redsox.com/vote," the Red Sox's official account wrote on Bluesky.
Entering the season, both Chapman and Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet, as well as outfielder Roman Anthony and Jarren Duran seemed like potential contenders to be voted into this summer's All-Star Game, scheduled for July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
Anthony and Crochet have been sidelined due to injury for much of the first half though, while Duran has had an inconsistent campaign thus far.
Chapman, meanwhile, has put up All-Star caliber numbers and has been floated in trade rumors recently.
Contreras leads Boston's offense in nearly every notable category and would be a strong choice to be voted in as well.
