Missouri Baseball head coach Kerrick Jackson is expected to return next season for his fourth year. The news was first reported by Kendall Rodgers of D1Baseball.
SOURCES: @MizzouBaseball head coach Kerrick Jackson is expected to return for his fourth season as head coach of the program, I'm told. Jackson's Tigers had a tough 2025 campaign, but showed clear improvement in 2026. I am expecting Missouri to very much ramp up internal support… pic.twitter.com/oZs9VB5Dl3

Missouri finished this season with a 24-31 overall record and a 6-24 mark in SEC play. It is Mizzou’s third consecutive losing season under Jackson, but the program showed signs of improvement with a road series victory over Kentucky and a home series win over Vanderbilt — their first series victory over the Commodores since 2018.
The program also notched their first SEC Tournament win since 2017 with a 10-8 victory over Ole Miss in the first round.
The news to retain Jackson isn’t all that surprising considering Laird Veatch was the athletic director when he was the head coach at Memphis.
One thing is clear, however — the athletic department needs to support this program a whole lot more if it wants to become competitive in the SEC. Per reports, more commitment could be in place for that to happen.
Mizzou hasn’t made an NCAA Regional since joining the SEC. The Tigers’ last NCAA Tournament appearance came in 2012 via winning the Big 12 Tournament.
Missouri continues to be the toughest job in SEC Baseball with plenty of challenges. Though, Joe Healy of D1Baseball believes the Tigers can return to relevancy if serious changes are made (a good read here if you are a subscriber).
"Missouri can be a serious program again, but it has to commit to serious changes for that to happen."
