It's been quite the month for Mitchell Robinson. He won an NBA championship with a broken finger and enters NBA free agency as one of the most coveted big men on the market.

Despite his stock being at an all-time high right now, Mitchell Robinson's road to glory had been unconventional, to say the least.

He recently stopped by the Roommates podcast with New York Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart to talk about the moment he realized college basketball was not for him.

“And, the thing was, like, school at that time wasn't really for me anyway. So I was like, there ain't no way in hell I'm gonna get up at 6 a.m. for them to yell at me, even if I'm doing it right," Robinson said regarding his brief time at Western Kentucky.

The athletic center claimed that he made a covert escape one evening and never looked back.

“So, they kept trying to do that, come to the dorm room, knocking on the door, banging on the door. So I'm like, yeah, all right, I got something for y'all. And then banging on it. As soon as that thing was over with, probably, it was in the middle of the night. It was probably like 1 a.m. in the morning. I was on the road back to New Orleans. Yeah, I was out of there.”

Brunson and Hart laughed at Robinson's recollection of his short-lived time in college basketball and confirmed that he probably wouldn't have held up that well at Villanova under Jay Wright.
