As Kamario Taylor prepares for his highly anticipated first season as Mississippi State football's quarterback, he's also teaming up with his younger brother, Jayytee.
And not only are they teammates, but Kamario revealed at SEC media days on July 23 that they are roommates, too.
The two of them share a two-story townhome in Starkville. Kamario, a sophomore, lives on the first floor, with Jayytee, a freshman, upstairs.
They aren't superb cooks yet and like using DoorDash, but enjoy making simple things like noodles or even baking cookies. And by their mother's account, they keep a very clean house. No outside shoes are allowed on the carpet.
"They get along really well," LaQuandra Conner, their mom, told the Clarion Ledger. "That makes me happy. And what's so funny is, I tell them they get along better in the house by themself than they did when they were in the house with us. Their thing and their word is that they're grown now."
Jayytee enrolled early at Mississippi State this season as a three-star athlete from Noxubee County.
He lived on campus for the spring semester, but when he had free time, he spent a lot of it at Kamario's place. Frequently when Conner would call Jayytee, he'd tell her that he was hanging out at Kamario's house.
So, Kamario and Jayytee decided on their own that they'd like to live together.
"I was going to make him go get an apartment and stuff, but I was like, 'Nah, why even waste that type of money?' " Kamario said.

Slowly throughout the semester, Jaytee began moving his stuff into Kamario's home, which had an open bedroom. His TV was one of the first items. The clothes followed.
Jayytee was fully moved in by the time the semester ended.
Kamario said he and his brother hardly argue with each other. But their mom said they have their occasional disputes that's expected of competitive brothers. Recently, they disagreed over who was the better athlete at Noxubee County.
"He stays upstairs," Kamario said. "I consider that his own house. He doesn't come downstairs much unless he's getting snacks or food, so he don't really be bothering me no more. But sometimes he'll go back to his little brother way and come into my room and throw stuff at me and try to play around."
Conner and her sons are from Macon, about a half-hour from Starkville. Kamario said he doesn't go home often, except for church on Sundays. However, Conner visits Starkville multiple times per week.
It isn't just to see Kamario and Jayytee, though. Sometimes, it's to run errands. Starkville has one of the closest Walmarts to Macon, a city of about 2,500 people.
And when she does want to see her boys, it's only one stop instead of two.
"Them living together has made them even more closer," Conner said. "As they would say, they're grown now. They've stepped out into grown men's shoes, and I'm very proud.
"I'm very proud of them because they don't call home and ask for much but a home-cooked meal. But everything else, they take care of themselves cleaning the house, doing whatever they need to do to walk into the roles of being men."
