The Eagles scored all nine of their runs in the first two innings to go up 1-0 in the series Friday night. Canon Lightfood led off the bottom of the first with a double, followed by a Braxon Roberts hit by pitch.
With runners on, Evan O'Connor began the scoring spree with the first of three RBI singles in the frame. Asher Strait also brought in a run on a sacrifice fly.

Cade Vidal's sacrifice fly made it 9-0.
Despite multiple base runners and only two fewer hits than the Eagles, Liberty couldn't get runs in as Weston Pickard and Austin Gallogly split time on the mound. Pickard earned six strikeouts.
Game two at Abilene Christian University will take place Saturday at noon.
