Milwaukee Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski has silenced many doubters this season. After he was named to the National League All-Star team following just five career starts in 2025, many fans and players (and Ken Rosenthal) were beside themselves with misplaced outrage. When Misiorowski dealt with command issues later in the season, these voices felt vindicated.
The fact of the matter is that no less than 12 NL pitchers declined the All-Star invite before Major League Baseball invited Misiorowski. He also pitched more innings than ever before last season, making his late-year struggles understandable, and the move to the bullpen a wise one.
This season, though, the only thing anyone can say about the Brewers ace is “Wow!”

All season long, Misiorowski has been re-writing the Major League record book in terms of velocity and how often a pitcher has thrown 100+ mph. He also is 6-2 with a 1.65 ERA, and leads the Majors in strikeouts (108), WHIP (0.79), and strikeouts per nine innings (13.7).
He was especially dazzling in May, but was not named the NL Pitcher of the Month. That honor went to Cristopher Sanchez of the Philadelphia Phillies:
To be fair, Sanchez did have a great month of May himself. After all, he did not allow a run. However, Misiorowski also had an historic month.
Sanchez: five starts; 4-0; 39.0 innings pitched; 0.00 ERA; 0.72 WHIP; 45 strikeouts
Misiorowski: six starts; 5-0; 38.1 innings pitched; 0.23 ERA; 0/52 WHIP; 57 strikeouts
It would seem that the one earned run Misiorowski gave up all month is what cost him the NL Pitcher of the Month this past May. That being said, it is a great statement on the quality of baseball being played all of the league that the race was this close and so highly debated.
It also gives Misiorowski just another excuse to get even better.
