Arsenal are preparing to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the Champions League on Saturday, and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is confident of their chances. The Emirates Stadium club have won never the elite European competition and last reached the final in 2006. Arteta is convinced Arsenal will return to North London with the trophy this weekend, telling his players and friends on Sunday night that the Gunners will be champions of Europe on Saturday.
Arsenal were celebrating the Premier League title on Sunday night when the Spaniard made the claim.
“On Saturday, we are going to be champions of Europe,” Arteta said.
The video was recorded by one of those in attendance and has been leaked on social media. While recording the Arsenal boss and posting it online is a privacy breach as the club eye a historic double, PSG are likely to be fuming. The clip will serve as extra motivation as Luis Enrique and his men look to successfully defend their European title.
