Mike MacDonald used humour to revisit one of the most talked-about moments in Super Bowl history during opening night.
Mike MacDonald was asked a hypothetical question from a reporter about how he would handle a situation similar to the goal-line sequence in Super Bowl XLIX.
The Seattle Seahawks head coach was asked about a hypothetical late-game scenario that still resonates with fans, and his response quickly brought Marshawn Lynch back into the spotlight.

Mike MacDonald revisits Marshawn Lynch Super Bowl moment
Mike MacDonald was asked whether he would consider relying on Marshawn Lynch in a late-game Super Bowl situation.
The question was a clear reference to the Super Bowl XLIX goal-line sequence when the Seahawks chose not to hand the ball to Lynch, a decision that continues to be debated.
“Is Beast Mode in the backfield? That’s within the realm of possibility.”
MacDonald’s response was lighthearted but underlined how Lynch remains the physical standard many still associate with Seahawks football.
Marshawn Lynch legacy still looms large in Seattle
Marshawn Lynch’s influence on the Seattle Seahawks has not faded, even years after his playing career ended.
Mike MacDonald summed up that admiration by saying, “I love Beast Mode. Just the fact that he knows me and texts me. That’s how you want Seahawks football to look like, Marshawn.”
Lynch was integral to the Seahawks’ consecutive Super Bowl runs in 2014 and 2015, and their 2014 Super Bowl win.
The exchange served as a reminder that Lynch’s style and Super Bowl legacy continue to shape conversations around the franchise.
