Big difference between raiders and broncos and bears teams during the applicable years. Cutler is a known quantity and he's getting up there in age too. He maybe could be a stop gap qb but he isn't the QBOTF. Keep in mind I didn't say Glennon is either, just noting we could do worse in that hunt.

Palmer had one winning season with the Bengals in the four years before he was traded to the Bay.

Sounds like what people were saying about Carson Palmer three years ago...

They are somewhat similar guys I agree. Cutler is sort of Jeff George waiting to find his Randy Moss led Vikings IMO.

The strange thing with him is he was coming off likely the best year of his career and yet he seems so disinterested. As much as Plummer drove me nuts at least when he made a mind numbingly dumb mistake that cost you he'd get mad, he'd usually blame the receiver, but at least he got mad. Cutler just seems to walk off the field smiling like it doesn't bother him.

But he is the exact type of QB Arians seems to love, big arm, likes to throw the ball downfield, and at least until recently seemed willing to hang in the pocket and let it rip.

My gut tells me he's reached the point where he no longer cares if he wins. What always made Palmer intriguing to me was IMO it was apparent he actually cared that's why he went through the trouble of retiring in Cincy, he was tired of playing for a franchise that didn't get it and they wouldn't trade him so he forced their hand. And in a sense it worked for both of them as without him they had to draft a QB and Dalton has been quite good.

If we'd have gotten Palmer instead of Kolb the post Warner years would have been different IMO.

I will always remember Glennon as the guy Tom O'Brien chose over Russell Wilson.
