The Golden State Warriors, like most teams in the NBA, have a lot of work to do this offseason when it comes to keeping their personnel on board.

For the Warriors, there's a lot more work to do than most teams have due to their desire to work rocket the team back to playoff contention while they still can with Steph Curry leading the roster and on that front they have options when it comes to using the draft, making big trades or trying to bring in some new life in free agency.

But they also have the matter of their existing free agents to address and based on general manager Mike Dunleavy's recent comments, it looks like they two players from this season's roster that are now eligible for free agency that the Warriors are interested in bringing back for next season.

Team sources within the Golden State Warriors organization continue to indicate that Kawhi Leonard is the type of “established wing talent” they would pursue in a win-now maneuver, per @anthonyVslater.

What's Going On With Draymond?

The first of those two players is the more pressing matter, though he isn't technically a free agent yet. Draymond Green has a $27.6 million player option available this season, but the belief across the league is that Green will decline that option and elect free agency in order to negotiate a new multi-year deal with the Warriors.

He hasn't made that decision yet and his deadline to do so is June 29, and if he does decline his option a report from ESPN indicates than any multi-year that the Warriors will negotiate will involve dropping Green's intended salary of $27.6 million down to $20 million for the first year in order to free up some extra cash for the Warriors to work with in free agency.

Green has never indicated that he wants to go anywhere else besides Golden State in his career, especially with Curry still on the team, and him electing free agency now doesn't put any doubt that he would go anywhere else besides the Bay.

Handling Porzingis

The other major free agent that the Warriors need to address is Kristaps Porzingis, who came to Golden State via a midseason trade with the Atlanta Hawks.

The Warriors are free to negotiate with Porzingis now that the NBA Finals have concluded , and that same report from ESPN indicated that while the Warriors are interested in bringing Porzingis back, they'd prefer to do it on a short-term deal at a "reduced rate from the $30.7 million he played for last season."

ESPN's report also indicated that momentum is building toward a deal with Porzingis and if Golden State is able to lock down their two most impactful bigs right at the start of the offseason, they'll have a strong foundation to work with when it comes to filling out the rest of their roster.
