Mike Brown makes stop at 49ers training camp

Mike Brown was the latest NBA head coach to add some hardware to his collection. By knocking out Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 edition of the NBA Finals, Brown became the latest head coach to be crowned a champion and etched into the history books of the New York Knicks.

Despite becoming a champ in New York, Brown still has strong ties to the Bay Area, from the basketball hardwood to the football gridiron. After six seasons as an assistant with the Golden State Warriors, Brown coached the Sacramento Kings for three seasons, racking up nine years in the Bay Area before becoming the Knicks head coach.

During the summer, Brown returned to the Bay Area to pay a visit to the San Francisco 49ers. Brown stopped by 49ers' practice in Santa Clara during the team's training camp session on Tuesday. Brown's son, Cameron, joined the 49ers coaching staff in 2021 and is still a Defensive Quality Control coach in San Francisco.

While in attendance at practice, the 49ers shared a video of the reigning NBA champion coach, declaring his allegiance to the 49ers.
